PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF SHORTLY TO IIT ALUMNI COMMUNITY

Hi, I am Silvia Galiani, I am a physicist by training interested in the challenging employment of advanced microscopy techniques in the investigation of biological systems.

 

 

WHAT DID YOU DO IN IIT ?

At IIT I received my doctoral training.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING AFTER YOU LEFT IIT?

Once left IIT I joined Christian Eggeling in his new lab at Oxford University as a Post Doc scientist, becoming responsible of custom made super resolution microscope implementation and getting more and more involved in biophysical studies of proteins dynamics.

HOW DID IIT CONTRIBUTE TO YOUR CURRENT CAREER?

Thanks to the doctoral training received at the Italian Institute of Technology I got the opportunity to learn from scientist from all around the world state of the art microscopy techniques.

WHICH IS ONE OF THE BEST MEMORIES YOU HAVE EXPERIENCED DURING YOUR PERIOD AT I

One of the greatest memory and opportunity was to travel with my group for conferences.
